I have loved making art all of my life! As a young girl, drawing and painting were my creative outlet. It wasn't until my early 30's that I was first exposed to working in clay.....and it was a revelation. Making pottery has been my passion for 27 years.
In addition to being an owner of The Potter's Obsession, a gallery and teaching studio in south Kansas City, I make pit fired pottery at my home studio. I enjoy teaching, but also love traveling to art fairs around the Midwest, meeting people, and sharing my love of pottery with all.
I have been selected to show my pit fired pottery at some of this country's best art fairs.....Main Street Arts Fest, Fort Worth, TX; The Uptown Arts Festival, Minneapolis, MN; Bayou City Arts Festival, Houston, TX; and The Brookside Art Annual, Kansas City, MO.
In May, 2008, I was invited to teach a primitive firing workshop with noted ceramic artist Paul Dresang at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
My functional pottery has been included in books by Lark Publishing...."500 Cups" and "500 Bowls".
