About the Artist
I graduated in 1985 with a degree in Art from Avila College, Kansas City, Missouri. For several years, I practiced and improved my pottery making skills, and sold my pottery at regional art fairs and galleries.

Then in 1992, I opened a commercial retail and teaching studio in south Kansas City. "The Potter's Obsession" has been a very successful venture. For the last 16 plus years, I built the reputation of my shop on teaching pottery making to the public, and on stocking the retail showroom at the front of the shop with my own handmade pottery, and that of other local artists.

In August, 2006, The Potter's Obsession, LLC, moved to it's current location, and I took in a partner to help operate the shop. I now have more time to create pottery in my home studio, and to add more art fairs to my schedule.

I have been selected to exhibit at some of the country's finest art fairs...including The Main Street Arts Fest in Fort Worth, Texas, and The Uptown Metris Arts Festival in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In May, 2008, I was invited by Paul Dresang, nationally noted ceramic artist and head of the Ceramics Department at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, to be Guest Artist and teach a week long class on Primitive Firing Techniques at the university.
